Welcome to my website! From here you can see what I do in the coalshed. I hope you enjoy browsing and if you need any more information please get in touch.
I am a self taught artist living in Devon, UK with my family, a mad Siamese cat and a noisy cairn terrier. I was born in Oxford.
I have been working with pencils for as long as I can remember. I usually work on Canford card with the Karisma/Prismacolour range of pencils, also Derwent Coloursoft pencils.
I specialise in commissioned portraits of people and pets, I also draw illustrations for commercial use. I have my own range of greetings cards (Coalshed Cards) which I sell locally and here on my website so please have a look!
I pay special attention to detail, and like to work in a realistic style, usually working from photographic reference as children and pets don’t sit still for very long!
I work from home in an old coal shed in my garden which has been made into a small studio. I consider myself very lucky to be able to do something that I love and I hope my drawings bring happiness and pleasure to other people.
I am a member of SOFA (The Society of Feline Artists) who exhibit all around the UK and most recently exhibited at Llewellyn Alexander Fine Paintings Ltd Gallery in Waterloo, London this year. I am also a signature member of the UKCPS (UK Coloured Pencil Society) and also took part in their Annual Exhibition at the New Gallery in Bristol’s Royal Academy of Art this year.
